Drawing is my passion and always has been. At the age of 9, I started attending art academy and continued to graduate eventually as a Master in Traditional Graphic Art techniques. (Higher Art Education Hasselt). I was lucky enough to make my passion my profession, teaching to both children and adults at the Art Academy (KNST Hasselt). At present I am still teaching drawing and illustration to adults.
Over the last few years I attended several workshops and summer schools with illustrators such as Kaatje Vermeire, Carll Cneut, Rebecca Dautremer, Brecht Evens, Fatinha Ramos, Sebastiaan Van Doninck, Mark Janssen, Martijn Vanderlinden
Exploring different techniques on paper, cardboard, canvas or wood, using pencils, coloured pencils, charcoal, gouache, acrylic, watercolour or ink is what I love the most. Illustrating just makes me happy!
I design and draw cards for MAILBOX-cards to put a smile on people’s faces or offer a little comfort.
In 2019 I published ‘Een klein boekje over verdriet & troost’ (‘A Small Book on Sorrow and Comfort’).
In 2022 I participated in ‘Picture This!’ with a self-written story called ‘Three Wacky Birds’. I feel very fortunate that I was chosen as one of the winners! For these illustrations, I used graphite pencils, coloured pencils, charcoal, brushes and a kneading gum.
I LOVE trees and nature is my main inspiration, the best source possible for my imagination.
